Default The Dark Knight *Spoliers*

Anyone else has seen this movie, if so, are you also so hyper-enthousiastic about it as I am?

May contain spoilers below! DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THE SPOILERS!!!!

Imo, I find it VERY sad Heath died, just because of the fact that we know he (Joker) won't come back in the next movie. (No, replacement won't work) EDIT: I actually mean the actor Heath Ledger died, as all of you know.

The ending also leaves some questions, as to: Two-Face, he clearly hasn't shown his full potential yet.
I think that they "buried" an empty coffin (Or whatever they did) in order to honor the "old" Harvey Dent, so he "died" as a Hero, regardless of him now being "Two-Face". (So "Harvey Dent" is "dead", but Two-Fae is still alive.)

Other than that, Oscar for Heath. I'm a fanboy, I won't lie. But I don't think any critic will find this performance "under" standard. Heck, this is top notch. You are NOT watching a performance, you simply ARE watching the Joker...
The way he licks his lips, how he touches his hair, moves his body, uses his eyes to express his feelings, and more...
Everything about this character just shows you how f!cked up he really is inside.

Gotham deserves a better class of criminals, and they got it.

Give your opinions (I didn't find another Dark Knight review thread so)

Man that was an AWESOME movie. I have never seen a better performance of the joker then that. And the way they introduced the joker was great. "Who did you kill?" "I just killed the bus boy" "What bus boy?" *bus backs up kills guy* So great...

I also like the introduction of two-face. I realized that Harvey Dent would be two-face as soon as I saw the coin (Im guessing hardcore batman fans probably knew as soon as his name appeared). Personally I didn't find that actor to play a good two face, the acting was good, but I would like to have a more... serious guy maybe. Somethings just didn't fit, he was definitely way to scrawny.

This movie is better then the first one by a long shot (not that the first one was bad). The entire movie could have ended when Harvey go tour of the death trap. But the very best part of the movie had to be the ending, when batman put all the blame on himself rather then tell the truth about how Harvey turned, terrific ending that gave great closure to me...

Overall, so many plot twists, turns, and action. A VERY worthy opponent to Iron Man...

Not having seen Iron Man, I do think TDK has a advantage when it comes down to fanboys...

Anyways, you've said what I think pretty much, besides the fact that I do think "Two-Face" played a good role. (Forgot his name, too lazy to imdb it)
I know him from Thank You For Smoking, which I liked aswell, and I really like his acting.

I think that he's supposed to be so "happy" in the beginning. He was the white knight. The happy easter bunny who was gonna cure Gotham of criminality. The fact that he was always smiling, that he had a perfect life perfectly illustrates HOW bitter people can become. He lost his life, face and the girl he loved.
I do think he played an amazing role, and I would love to see him come back in the sequel...

I enjoyed it. Well worth waiting in line for the 12:01 showing of it. It is pretty disappointing that Ledger can't reprise his role as The Joker in any future films, he was amazing. I really can't wait for the next one. Overall, it is probably the best superhero movie I have ever seen. It was long, but really didn't drag at all. Ledger deserves a nomination at the very least, if he deserves the oscar itself, depends on what else comes out this year.

Agreed with Joker's performance. Ledger was amazing.

I'm fairly certain Dent is dead...I mean, the other police were there, so...

Bruce survived the fall while gutshot. Not a stretch saying Two Face survived.

Yes, the movie was top notch but the only problem I had is when they showed Batman running at the end (it will probably be spoofed latter on). It kind of killed some of the mood at the end.

However, the part I really enjoyed was the hospital scene between Harvey/Two-Face and the Joker. When you could see how the Joker really twists peoples minds by just giving them a “really bad day.” I also enjoyed the part where he was trying to set off those explosives outside the hospital it got me to crack up a bit.

Christian Bale is a God.
Heath Ledger was great as the joker, however I felt Two-Face was too rushed/crammed into the story to really get a good feel to his character.

They didn't add much depth to him, they just threw him in without really showing the audience the depths of his madness.

At least that's how I feel, still an amazing film.

He was also wearing high impact armor coated in titanium alloy, which he specifically wanted for physical resistance. Two-face was wearing... clothes. Who knows, maybe he survived, but the most cliche thing to do then would be to have the body disappear, which means that they want two-face to reprise his role. So either they are deciding on it, or they want to have a new villain. Im thinking Mr. Freeze or Penguin. Or maybe Poison Ivy (would be pretty cool if they brought back Rachel Dawes as Ivy, could make some sense if they add in there were a bunch of chemicals in the place).

Personally no matter how good Batman is, I really don't want them to go beyond 3 films. A trilogy is great, but anything more then that means they are just looking for more money... plus the fourth ones are usually pretty bad...

Saw it, it was good ^^.

Personally I think that Two-face is dead. When they Batman and the guy looked at the body, he didn't move...at all.
I didn't think at all the the police men would become two face....that was the little bad thing about this movie : I find that the character was too much rushed.

The Jocker was priceless xD ("Wanna see a magic trick ?" lol).

I think Christopher Nolan had stated before he wanted to stick Harvey Dent in Batman Begins, but could not do him justice. Honestly if they do a third one, I believe they have to find a way to clear Batman’s name again. So they might stick two-face back in again for the third one. You see the problem is that they never showed Harvey Dent being in a coffin or anything. They just had a tribute to him so that way Gotham would not feel betrayed by Harvey’s actions. Therefore, they might have secretly taken him to Arkham Asylum. Especially considering after the fact that they kind of faked James Gordon death in the movie. Knowing Nolan’s style of filmmaking, I would not be too surprised if this happened.

They need Professor Hugo in the next film, and more on two face. Perhaps Prof. Hugo + the riddler as a team? That would put a nice twist on the story.

True, they could put Hugo Strange in there as well as The Riddler (Edward Nigma). Perhaps they could even stick in Jervis Tetch (the Mad Hatter) considering he does kidnaps Lucius Fox in the comics. Especially considering that Lucius knows the true identy of the Batman. I mean one of these villians would take the story in a diffent direction, then what we have seen in the previous films (obsesiveness comes to mind). At least they are realistic enough for Nolan’s taste I believe.

The Dark Knight was one of the best movies i've seen in a long time. And Heath Ledger totally swept that movie as Joker. Magic Trick at the beginning was sheer win.
Shame though if Dent is actually dead though. I would have though he'd play a big role in the third movie(if there is one), but who knows maybe something will still come from it.

According to an interview with Christian Bale, there is going to be a thrid movie (confirmed) AND it is most likely going to focus on the next 2 comics in line. (Forgot the name, but this way, we know who the villains are going to be)

From these comics, it has been generally assumed that the main villain WILL be Two-Face...

How about Catwoman? They could make her the new love interest and have her come back alive and have huntress with Bruce Wayne (at least then you have a happier ending). Catwoman has been a bit overused though... I really would't suggest putting Robin or Bat girl in because that has been very overused...

The Mad Hatter would be awesome to see.

And thank you, Dante. Saved me from stating me reasoning.

They need to put Robin in somehow. They just need to make his uniform badass like they did in Batman and Robin (where Arnold played Freeze).

Here, have a look:

The Batman costume sucked, but the Robin costume was awesome. Very modern and not complete homo erotic.
